Ouch...

So I got the book! Yea! But now I have a new problem... I think my brain might explode...

I really do not like the first test in a class. You have no idea what you're getting into. The second test is always better. So here's looking at you Exam 2!

ARGHHH!!!

Currently I am in the throws of full blown school. Not only am I starting my second semester of the LPN program but I also am taking Pathophysiology (which is not a breeze through kind of class).

I never bought the $100+ patho book because they have a copy up at the library you can check out for 3 hours at a time. Yesterday (trying to plan ahead and be responsible) I came up to the library to study for my first patho test which is Tuesday.

I was here for 4 and a half hours! I went through 3/4 of the study guide and typed up all the info from the book that I thought I'd need. I was so proud of myself. When it came time to go home I saved my document like one billion times.

That brings us to today... right now I am killing time at the library. I came up and went to check out the book only to find out that it's already checked out. Okay... I'll just go read over what I did yesterday...WRONG!!!

I logged onto the computer and my file was nowhere to be found. I asked and apparently you can't save anything to these computers... fabulous!!! I think I'm going to cry... that'll teach me to be responsible...

Dear person with the patho book,

PLEASE BRING IT BACK SOON!!!

Sincerely,
Losing my mind in Logan

The answer was "d"!

Dear Professors,

Sometimes your test questions are poorly written.  Sometimes your notes contradict your tests. Sometimes you can be wrong too.  It's okay, I forgive you!

Boy meets girl...

Hello, my name is Karen and I'm a prime time television addict.  It just so happens that all the new episodes are during the bitter cold months in Logan.  What else is there to do on a cold winter's night than cuddle up close and laugh at other people's misfortune?

As a result of my love of T.V you may from time to time encounter commentary on my favorite shows.  Tonight I will be discussing The Bachelor.  Did I mention that I find reality T.V particularly tantalizing?

This is the first time I've ever followed this show.  It makes me feel so sad!  I remember what it's like those first few weeks when you meet someone are you're starting to fall for them. Imagine that but then having to share him with like a bazillion other gorgeous and talented girls.  Eww! Not to mention that he's a total N.C.M.O (non-committal make out) whore.

Anyways this week was wonderful because he sent my three least favorite girls packing! Woo who!  Some of those girls were just awful!  Fake and mean!  Do these people realize that they are on national television! I am so embarrassed for them!

Shannon was an utter psychopath!  From day on she was like, "Hi I memorized your myspace but don't worry I'm not a stalker!" Umm, if someone has to tell you they're not a stalker then I say run for the hills!  So long creepy-mcgee!

Megan showed real poise since the first night.  All the girls got to vote for one to go home.  She got the most votes but the twist was that she actually got to stay.  Her response?  She stands up in front of everyone (including the bachelor) and calls the girls byotches!  Hmm, wonder why they voted for you?

Lauren was just obnoxious!  Tonight she pulled the bachelor aside and ordered him to give her a rose!  "If you don't give me a rose I am going to be really mad..."  If you have to order him to keep you around maybe it's not going to work out. When he didn't give her the rose she said she was going to slap him!  Where do they dig these women up?

Well, there went 5 minutes of your life you're never getting back... thanks for reading!

Yes... we get it...

I just needed to rant a little bit.  So if you know me at all you know I grew up in... how should I put this... a "diverse" area.  I like to think I'm open minded because of it.  Sure I've met people that fit all sorts of racial stereotypes but for all of those people I've met tons that don't fit into it at all. As a result I don't tend to classify people until I get a glimpse into their personality. I don't care if you're black, white, yellow, or green!  If you have a bad attitude I dislike you equally... do you see where I'm going with this?

As for the new leader of the free world...

I cannot stand how everyone is going on and on about "hallelujah we elected a black man"! Don't get me wrong it really is amazing that we've come this far and yada, yada, yada.  What really grinds my gears is that it shouldn't matter either way.  Someone is not more or less qualified by the color of his skin.  It shouldn't matter that Mr. President is black.  What should matter is the person's political views and the caliber of his character.  I am not saying Mr. Obama is going to be a good or bad president (I don't want this to be a blog about my political persuasions).  All I'm saying is drop it all ready!  Yep he's black... and...?

I've heard people claim things like all white people are racists and that all we see is color.  Isn't that true about the preacher on the news rejoicing for the first black president?   Do you get what I'm saying? It's a double standard...

Well, that was a lot lengthier than I originally planned.  All I'm saying is yes it's great... now let's move on!

The Impossible Quiz

Looking for something completely worthless to waste your time doing? Thought so!  We've spent many an evening rattling our brains trying to finish this thing!  Check it out... it's pretty entertaining!

Personal space invader...

As I've already pointed out my dog is like my child.  I can't really say for sure since I don't have a real kid to compare it with but I think you get the idea.  Anyways we are basically fascinated by all the little things she does.  She is quite a quirky little critter.  One of her many quirks is that she has absolutely no sense of personal boundaries.  She'll use you throat as a trampoline without even hesitating.  My last blog was about her fish obsession.  Here are some pictures that illustrate what I'm getting at very nicely!
Casey was admiring the fish and Lu jumped up to get a closer look.  She used him as a pedestal without any prompting from us... It's probably a good thing because most days she tries to get all four feet on the arm rest and ends up falling off!

People say that pets and their owners look alike... what do you think?

One fish, two fish, red-bellied man eating fish!

So last week Lulu discovered the fish for the first time.  She was fascinated! We've had Lulu for a little over a year.  We've had our piranha for three.  You'd think she would have noticed them before.  I guess she had more important things going on before!

This went on all night and is still happening daily.  Nose to the glass, paws up, whining, barking, the whole bit!  It's pretty funny.  I tried once to put her up to the top where she could realize they are under water and are not coming out to play anytime soon.  Did this deter her? Nope!  She got herself a quick drink (Eww! But I guess it's better than the toilet...) and then it was back to business!  Good thing they didn't decide to bite her tongue off!

The First Date Freaks

Case and I are pretty much obsessed with Rockband.  He is the guitarist and I am the drummer and let me just say we are pretty kick-a! Last weekend we had a few friends over and our living room was transformed into The House of Blues!  We had a blast!

A spirited rendition of Jet's "Are You Gonna Be My Girl"...
I'm a versatile band member.

Girl band!
That's Casey on the guitar, Swede on vocals, James on the bass, and Ammo on the drums! The ultimate boy band!
